about the emulated line out, gain stages, clean channel and a/d/a

hi,

i'm planning to buy a blackstar ht-5r head in september. but i have some questions about this little beast. your help will be appreciated.

1) if i use the emulated line out (if possible without connecting to a cab), will this output reflect the effect of the poweramp on the sound, or is it before the power section? do i need a di-box to get the effect of the poweramp on the sound?
