I have always admired classic Disney films for their emotional impact. Despite being targeted at kids, many have sophisticated melancholy and regret, beyond the usual death premise. The atmosphere of these scenes accomplished by music, lighting, and often lack of dialogue only serves to accentuate their tragedy.
