Pitch bends?

Sorry if these questions have been answered somewhere, I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking at so I don't know what to search for :'D


Firstly, yeah...so I see those blue lines inbetween the notes in a lot of USTs...what are they?
Secondly, on this same UST, if I right click a note and choose 'pitch', I get a box like this
