Fort Wright/Fort Randolph on the Mississippi river
Got in a little detecting this afternoon at where I believe is the original site of Fort Randolph, a river fort about 25 miles north of Memphis situated on a bluff 100 ft above the river. It afforded a view of 6 miles up and down the river. Fort Randolph, along with Fort Wright, was destroyed during the Civil War and never saw any action.
